X: Ten Paintings by Rossella Picciani

Picciani will reveal her latest work in a stunning exhibition at Manningham Gallery from 17 June 2009.

The exhibition, entitled 'X', will feature 10 large, multi-panel paintings that showcase many of the themes she has explored in her previous work. Subjects include the legend of Icarus, the I Ching and the threat of extinction.

This video shows the creation of one of Picciani's paintings - from research through to the finished piece. The painting, entitled "The Fugue", was inspired by Clive Barker's classic novel Weaveworld, in which a world is magically hidden within the weave of an ornate rug.
